Rent to Own / Lease Option Your New Florida Home: Scam Alert - Part 3

Author: Mike Payne

Dont fall for the Were not Realtors line proudly proclaimed by those who are not licensed.

Another common line appearing on many investors' websites states, "I am not a realtor; I am a real estate investor who specializes in solving tough real estate problems."

While it is commendable for real estate investors to want to try to solve challenging real estate problems, the concern lies with some investors' unlicensed, unethical, and illegal activity.

An UNLICENSED real estate investor's activity is more difficult to prosecute in the event the uncrupulous person rips you off or at the very least misrepresents him/herself.

John & Suze Milner of Orlando, FL, experienced a tragedy before finding Rent to Own Florida | Florida Rent to Own Homes: "...We didnt want to be desperate and lose any more money. If you recall, prior to contacting you we had lost our previous down payment of $6,000 when an unscrupulous person offering a home for lease-option lied to us and had us sign a bad contract. We loved that house for the year we lived there and made all our payments and kept it so clean; we believed it was ours, and then he pulled the fast one on us when he realized it was worth more than he had agreed to sell it to us for. We still had a bitter taste in our mouth from that experience, but we wanted out of our apartment..."

Avoid Unlicensed Rent to Own Florida Opportunists!

When you choose to work with a licensed person who specializes in Florida rent-to-own, lease option, and/or lease purchase home opportunities, you benefit as a buyer.

You will NOT pay for the licensed Realtor's services and you will get the assurance that comes with working with a licensed person.

If the person helping you with a rent-to-own home opportunity in Florida is a Realtor, that person is licensed by Florida and can lose his license if he misrepresents himself.

As long as the Realtor specializes in rent-to-own transactions, you will benefit from the Realtors negotiating skills, contracts, MLS access, and real estate knowledge.

The LICENSED person will jeopardize his/her license with unethical or immoral real estate activity.

The UNLICENSED peson, on the other hand, can misrepresent him/herself, give you all kinds of happy talk with guarantees on fixing your ugly credit, you get your rent-to-own home in your name, and promising you that you'll get financed at the end of the lease term.

Remember: It is more difficult, perhaps even impossible, to go after an unlicensed person who rips you off. Be certain you know with whom you are working before you waste your time, sign forms, or hand over your hard-earned money.
