Hawaiian Themed Party Creating a Tropical Environment

Author: Gail Leino

To create a memorable Hawaiian themed party, it will be vital for you to invoke the sensations of Hawaii! You may live in an environment far different from the tropical landscapes of the Hawaiian Islands, but with the right ingredients for your party, you can bring the enticing native atmosphere to your home and to your anticipating guests.

Paper and plastic decorations are easy to use, and are remarkably easy to store and save. If your Hawaiian party turns out to be a blast and a huge success among your friends, decorations can be salvaged and reused in years to come. To bring the Hawaiian atmosphere to your own backyard, you can purchase decorations like inflatable palm trees that are fun and will add the element of color to your party. Alternatively, shimmering metallic palm trees that can be hung from the wall inside or outside on a fence or gate will also serve the purpose of bringing in the palm tree icon that is so famous for representing the tropical vegetation of Hawaii.

Music is important to any Hawaiian party and you can find mixed CDs that will play a variety of well-known artists and beach themed tunes. Consider handing out plastic or paper Hula skirts. These can come in straw colored or grass colored and will add a little flare to your guests as they sway their hips to the music.

A Hawaiian themed party is generally held in the summer season, which can mean a hot sun and thirsty guests. Plastic cups and straws can be purchased to match your Luau theme, but you can also create your own drinks by purchasing whole coconuts from your neighborhood grocer, drilling a large hole in the top, draining the milk and filling the hollow shell with a tropical punch of your own!
