The tension between Janelle and Jose starts as the cast mates prepare for the grand opening of the Mystic Tan salon.

Janelle asks Zach to direct him to help her with marketing and Zach agrees.

Later, Janelle talks to Jose about the marketing duties, and comments that she doesnt know what hes doing as Assistant Manager. He gets slightly defensive but agrees to help with the marketing. She assigns him to pass out fliers in a two-mile-radius, while she will focus on the local hotels.

The next day, there is a mild crisis as the Mystic Tan booths stop working and they spend some harried minutes on the phone with tech support.

The booths get fixed, and Jose tells Janelle that he went out and hit the local hotels to do some marketing. She remains calm in front of him, but is later furious and vents to Zach. Shes angry because Jose didnt follow her direction and so messed up her marketing plans.

That night, the gang goes out with some of Tyler visiting friends. Its not the usual drunken night though, as Paula, on advice from her therapist, drinks in moderation.

Later that same evening, Janelle tries to rush the group home since they have a big day the next day. Jose loses his cool and mildly mouths off to her in response. Janelle is offended, and Jose mouths off more. She gets up in his face, and they yell at each other. The other cast mates manage to calm them down enough to get home, but its not resolved.

Back at the house, Janelle talks about how she won't accept Joses inevitable apology, and Jose decompresses about the fight with one of Tylers friends. He seems to regret his lack of self-control in the incident.

The grand opening seems to go off well. A local marching band performs, and the crowd at the store seems to be healthy. The cast mates donate a portion of the profits to a local AIDS organization. At the end of the day, the profits are tallied, and the VP lets them know the cast mates are actually getting 100% of the profits instead of the 50% they were expecting.
